M’Bilia Meekers, who graduated from Lusher with a CA in Creative Writing in 2011, has had a poem published in this month’s New Yorker! You can read the poem here. We expect to be hearing about Bee for years to come!

M’Bilia Meekers is a Poetry M.F.A. student at NYU. She completed her Bachelor of Arts at Tulane University in May 2015, majoring in English Literature with a concentration in Creative Writing. Meekers graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.79 GPA. She has won numerous awards, including the Mable Faun Poetry Award of 2011 and Tulane University’s Academy of American Poets Prize of 2015. Meekers is a Cave Canem Fellow. Her work has previously appeared or is forthcoming in The New Yorker, Guernica, Poet Lore, Tulane Review, and Killer Whale Journal.
