Campus Names

In 2021, The New Orleans Public Schools Facilities Renaming process led to a selection of three new building names by Superintendent Lewis. On September 3, 2022, The Willow School community and the families of our building namesakes, celebrated with ribbon-cutting ceremonies at all three campuses : 

Dr. Everett J. Williams, Jr. Campus

The Willow Street building, home to our Lower School, grades kindergarten through 4th, is located at 7315 Willow Street and was renamed in honor of Dr. Everett J. Williams, Jr., the first Black superintendent of New Orleans Public Schools. 

Ellis Marsalis, Jr. Campus

The Loyola Street building, home to our Middle School, grades 5th through 7th, is located at 5625 Loyola Avenue and was renamed  Ellis Marsalis, Jr. after the “Jazz Patriarch” of one of the most famous musical families in New Orleans.

Elijah Brimmer, Jr. Campus

The Freret Street building, home to our High School, grades 8th through 12th, is located at 5624 Freret Street and was renamed for Elijah Brimmer, Jr., the retired music teacher and beloved band director for Alcee Fortier and Cohen Schools.
