Parents/Guardians
Parents/guardians are one of The Willow School’s greatest strengths and greatest resources. The families in our diverse community bring the extra energy and creativity needed to push The Willow School’s mission even further by staying involved in a variety of activities on our school campuses and within the larger community.
Every parent/guardian and staff member affiliated with The Willow School is automatically a member of the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA).
Our new website can be found here: https://willowschoolptsa.membershiptoolkit.com/ Please set up an account for your family. This will be the way that room parents communicate with each class, how we will organize volunteers, and where we will give you more information about the different events happening throughout the school year.
With help from our PTSA, new fundraising and volunteering ideas are brainstormed and refined to consistently improve life at The Willow School. Any PTSA member can attend PTSA meetings and sign up to work on various fundraising activities.
Funds raised by the PTSA help cover items like the construction of the Lions Gate Theater, the Lower School playground and security fence, bottle filling stations at all campuses, new Chromebooks, educational software and professional development for the faculty.
Although fundraising is a vital function of the PTSA, our support reaches beyond financial assistance in many other ways, including:
Community building
Volunteering
Parent work days
Help in the classroom
Room Parents
For more information on how to get involved, contact Leighton Strong, PTSA President at leighton_strong@willowschoolnola.org.
Each spring, the PTSA seeks nominations for new board members. If you would like to nominate someone or be considered for board membership, in late April/early May, please submit a brief letter of intent and a one-to-two-paragraph bio to leighton_strong@willowschoolnola.org, or drop it off at the PTSA mailbox in the main office at any campus.
Check our school calendar for scheduled PTSA events and meetings.
