New Student Registration for 2025-2026 School Year

It's time to complete the New Student Registration process for the 2025-2026 school year!

We are so excited to welcome your student and your family to The Willow School for the upcoming school year. This New Student Registration form will provide lots of information about your child to our staff so we can begin planning right away to support your child's learning and development at Willow.

Families placed during the Main Round must complete registration as soon as possible and no later than April 30, 2025. If your family does not complete the registration form by the deadline, your student will lose their seat for the 2025-2026 school year. Registering promptly is important so we can schedule placement tests, complete student scheduling, and follow up with families.

Residency Document Options

The Willow School is a public school and therefore has a residency requirement. Students enrolling in public school in Orleans Parish must live in Orleans Parish. Families must upload proof of residency annually in order to comply with this Orleans Parish School Board policy.

All documents must include the parent/guardian’s name and the service address. All documents must be either dated within 90 days of submission or valid for 2025. The service address must match the address submitted on the Registration Form. You’re welcome to redact all numbers and personally identifying information other than the parent/guardian name and the service address.

Families who are completing registration for the first time at The Willow School must submit THREE proof of residency documents.

If you have a question about submitting a document that is not listed here, please reach out to our admissions team. Contact information is listed below.

NOT Accepted Document Types

Documents that are not directly tied to your residence are not accepted as proof of residence options. For example: auto insurance, streaming service bills, or cell phone bills are not accepted because they are not connected to your home.

Common Questions

What if I'm having trouble with my child's unique link?

Try this general access link for the New Student Registration form. You'll be prompted to enter your student's 15-digit snapcode and log in to access your child's unique form. When you access the form this way, you won't be asked to verify your child's date of birth.

What if I don't have residency documents in my name?

If you do not have proof of residency documents in the parent/guardian's name for the home you live in, you can provide documents in the name of another person who lives in your home with the student. This is an acceptable way to complete the residency requirement for the 2025-2026 school year as long as all of the components are submitted. On the Registration Form, you'll indicate that this is the situation for your family and be given the opportunity to upload the appropriate documentation directly to the form.

You will need to submit two pieces of information about the owner or renter of the home along with two proof of residency documents:

A) Letter: An electronic or written letter from the person who owns or rents the home stating that the parent/guardian and child live in the home with the owner/renter.

B) Two Photo IDs: Government-issued photo identification of the person who owns/rents the home AND the parent/guardian.

With these two pieces of information, the proof of residency documents submitted on the Registration Form can be in the name of the owner/renter who writes the submitted letter.

For example, let's say you live in a house with your child and your mom (the child's grandmother). You could submit a letter from your mom stating that you and the child live in her house with her and a picture of her photo ID. Then, you can submit a letter from your mom, your mom's photo ID, your photo ID, and Entergy bill & a water bill in your mom's name.

What if my family is experiencing homelessness and we don't have proof of residency documents?

Students who are experiencing homelessness or are in foster care have additional protections under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (42 USC 11431). Students experiencing homelessness have the right to be enrolled in school and are not held to the same requirements for proof of residency, and instead can complete the Louisiana Student Residency Questionnaire Form, which is intended for students protected under the McKinney-Vento Act. Please note this form must be turned in annually.

You'll be able to indicate that this is the situation for your family on the Registration Form and you will not be asked to provide documentation for proof of residency. This is an acceptable way to complete the residency requirement for the school year. If you check this box on the Registration Form, the Willow team will follow up with you individually and confidentially to complete the appropriate document.
