Willow is now home to a 2025 Louisiana State Chess Champion! This past weekend, two Willow 7th graders attended the Louisiana State Scholastic Chess Championship and finished on top. This chess tournament is the highest level of scholastic chess competition in the state. This year, they hosted more than 120 students from all over Louisiana. Isaiah Felix and Luca Culotta competed in the K-8 division and finished in the top two, with Isaiah in first place and Luca in second place. The boys worked hard at every tournament this year leading up to the Championships and played extremely well while representing Willow. We are looking forward to building a stronger team next year so that we can bring home the 1st place Willow Team trophy!
