The Willow Lower School

Ms. Blackman is our new 3rd grade teacher.  She is teaching reading, language and social studies.  Here’s a little about Ms. Blackman:

What do you love most about your work?

The kids!  I love kid jokes and antics.  I also love watching them learn and grow.  Mostly, I love building a classroom community and spending the whole year with a group of students who don't realize how much they are accomplishing together. Connectedness is my favorite part of teaching.  

Who inspires you? Why?

Average people doing kind things inspire me. I'm inspired by everyday people like you and me who do kind and lovely things for people.  We can easily get caught up in our own hectic lives, so I'm always inspired by people who establish kindness first and foremost as a way of life.

What fills you with joy?

Animals fill me with joy!  I like to volunteer at ARNO and walk the shelter dogs each week. Books also fill me with joy - I love to read.

I can juggle. 

Ms. Blackman says it is a dream come true to be at The Willow School.  She feels there is something magical about this community and she is grateful to be a part of it.
