We are thrilled to announce that our 6th grade Social Studies teacher Ms. Danette Thierry is one of the winners of New Schools for New Orleans' 2023 New Orleans Excellence in Teaching Awards (NOETA). Ms. Thierry is one of 89 teachers to be awarded the NOETA. This award was also given to two of our Willow staff members - Mr. Shawn McCrea from our high school and Ms. Marquise Reine from our elementary school.
The NOETA is an enormous honor given to the teacher of the year from every public school in New Orleans. It is presented alongside a $1,000 Classroom Excellence Grant at the annual NOETA Gala. The 2023 gala is sponsored by Entergy and will be held this year on October 21st at the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans. More information about NOETA, the Gala, and the winners can be found at noeta.org.
As a NOETA winner, Ms. Thierry represents the top 3% of educators in the city. She is a talented and skilled educator who is dedicated to her students. We are so proud of you, Ms. Thierry!
