We are honored that our middle school campus is dedicated to Mr. Ellis Marsalis, Jr. On Saturday, September 3rd, we had a beautiful dedication ceremony for our new building. Members of Mr. Marsalis' family including Delfeayo Marsalis, Trena Marsalis, and Mboya Marsalis attended the ceremony. Mr. Delfeayo Marsalis spoke about his father's legacy. NOLA Public Schools Board Vice President Carlos Zervigón, AABE member Alysia Loshbaugh, Interim CEO Nicolette London, and our principal Kendra Henry also commemorated the day. Our high school's Certificate of Artistry in Jazz students performed at the ceremony with their teacher Mr. Kent Jordan. Their performance was spectacular! It was wonderful to celebrate Mr. Ellis Marsalis, Jr. with his family and members of our community.
