5th grade science

The 5th-grade students in Ms. Svoboda's science class had a special activity with guest speakers from LIGO recently. LIGO stands for Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory and is located in Livingston, LA. There are 3 of these sites in the world with gravitational wave detectors. We were very excited to have the LIGO education department work with our fifth-grade students. The students were able to ask questions about black holes. This will be a unique opportunity for them to interact with scientists in the field and learn about their journey.
