The Willow School is proud to celebrate Class of 2021 alum Jude Mikulencak, who has been announced as one of 22 contestants on Season 22 of Project Runway. Mikulencak is a New Orleans native and graduate of the school formerly known as Lusher Charter School, and is featured in People magazine’s announcement of the Season 22 cast, which can be viewed here.
Mikulencak joins the competition as a Brooklyn-based designer whose creative work is rooted in classic tailoring, a discipline that requires precision, structure, imagination, and a deep understanding of form.
For the Willow arts community, Mikulencak's appearance on Project Runway is a meaningful reminder of what can grow from a strong K–12 creative foundation. The journey from New Orleans classrooms and studios, to a national design platform reflects the kind of artistic possibility we hope all students can imagine for themselves.
The Willow School celebrates not only an individual accomplishment, but also the continuing legacy of alumni who carry their creativity into the wider world.
