School may be out for the summer, but Willow School staff members are always seeking opportunities to grow and learn in preparation for the next school year. Many teachers and administrators recently attended the Louisiana Department of Education's Teacher Leader Summit, an annual professional learning conference that brings together Louisiana birth-to-grade-12 educators and content experts.

Team Willow (staff) celebrated the end of the school year at the park. What a great way to wrap up the year! Thank you, Willow faculty, staff and administration, for another fabulous year! Now, time to prep for 2024-25!

5, 4, 3, 2, 1! Happy Summer, everyone!

2nd Water Day is always a hit!

Mr. Barrau and Ms. Staes's second grade class performed for us on Thursday morning, singing "See You Again." Thanks, Sun Rays!

The fourth graders "Passed the Torch" to the third graders on Wednesday afternoon. Representatives from each fourth grade homeroom gave a speech the class had written, explaining what to expect in fourth grade, from behavior to special events to kindergarten buddies. Then they passed a torch with advice and good wishes on it, letting the third graders know that they've got this!

Wednesday morning was a special morning meeting for the fourth graders, as they get ready to move on to middle school. Students shared favorite memories and special morning meetings from the past, and they explained how they were going to pass the literal and figurative torch to the current third graders. Ms. Henry, the principal from the middle school, and Delilah, an upcoming seventh grader, welcomed them to the Marsalis campus next year, reminding them how much will still be the same. We ended with singing "Learning the Willow Way" and wished the students well on their new ventures!

The first grade hosted all the kindergarten classes for a K-1 Fun Day on Monday! They played games, enjoyed popsicles, and made connections with friends as they celebrated the end of the year and the kindergarteners got ready to transition to first grade. What a great day!

What a special Morning Meeting we had today! The seniors, our Class of 2024, came over to the Williams campus so the Lower School students could celebrate them and so they could reminisce about their younger days. After singing "Learning the Willow Way" and receiving their graduation caps made by the kindergarten and fourth grade buddies, the seniors toured the school and played on the playground. Congratulations, Seniors!

What a wonderful show from the Drama Company on Friday! Thanks to Ms. Michele and Ms. Tara and a talented cast and crew for sharing "Monsters Great and Small" with us!

Meteorologist Amber Wheeler from Fox 8 stopped by to share her expertise with our Willow School 2nd graders. Second grade has been researching different weather phenomena this quarter.

We were celebrated for our amazing donations from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Way to go, Willow School!

The fourth grade TAT kids checked in with the parents for Thankful Thursday, who were thankful for: easy traffic and getting to school on time, special teachers raising their kids to be good people, kids who knew to use water guns outside only, Minecraft, cookies, and amazing children. Thanks, parents!

Thank you for joining us at our annual Arts Happening on Thursday! It was a beautiful celebration of art, collaboration, and community. Many thanks to all the people who helped make it happen!

The 4th grade TAT students checked in with our awesome cafeteria and custodial staff for Thankful Thursday! Here are some things they were thankful for: Starbucks, family, being with all y'all and getting to spend every day with good people, my job, granddaughter, getting up to come serve you healthy breakfasts and lunches each day, all the teachers, and family. We're so thankful for YOU!
