Willow School senior, William Xi, has been selected by 826 New Orleans as a "Pizza Poet Laureate." William's contest entry, "Beginning," was selected and will be featured on pizza boxes throughout New Orleans today, on Pizza Poetry Day. We would love for as many families and staff as possible to go out and purchase pizza at a participating pizzeria and support our Willow School poet on this day. G’s Pizza (Mid-City), Midway Pizza, Pizza Delicious, Reginelli’s (all locations) and Theo’s Neighborhood Pizza (Mid-City and Uptown).

All week we have collected items for Tornado Relief Drive benefiting the residents in Mississippi. Students donated canned good or other needed items.

7th-grade students in Ms. Disman's Creative Writing class are working on podcasts this week. We can't wait to hear their podcasts!



The 6th-grade students in Ms. Bagneris' class are completing an amazing visual arts project. They will demonstrate an understanding of “sculpture in the round” by creating a 3D face sculpture inspired by the artwork of cubist artist Pablo Picasso. Bravo to these incredible artists!




Middle School theater classes are so much fun! The students worked collaboratively in groups on their scenes.




On Wednesday, we celebrated our amazing Office staff at Morning Meeting. We sincerely appreciate the hard work for Ms. Ellinghausen, Ms. Doussan, and Ms. Laufer! They make our school such a wonderful place to be!

Today, our principal Ms. Henry and our assistant principal Ms. Sepanik met with the 4th-grade students (rising 5th-grade students) to discuss scheduling their classes next year. We look forward to welcoming them to our middle school.

Recently, our CEO Ms. Nicolette London met with the students at Morning Meeting. Our middle school congratulated Ms. London on being appointed our CEO.

We are incredibly proud of Willow senior William Xi, who represented us in Baton Rouge this week as a state finalist in the annual Student of the Year competition. Thanks to Ms. Brenda Fitzpatrick for overseeing our high school students' participation in this annual program.




Before Spring Break, we had a special treat from our PTSA. To reward us for all of our hard work with the Crawfish Boil drink drive, they gave us an ice cream treat with a drink! It was a fun way to celebrate all of our hard work this year. Thank you to the PTSA!
